We get all sentimental with this project – our first of many Starbucks coffee shops and drive through. As the world’s largest coffee chain, we really wanted to impress and deliver on this project, knowing that there’s a Starbucks around near enough every street corner.
It’s a place that doesn’t just have to serve great coffee, it has to have a certain feel, which lets customers sit down, savour their beverage, and have the opportunity to relax, catch up with friends, or log on to their laptops and be able to catch up on a bit of work.
Creating an ambiance which WSG help captured in design, expressed in manufacturing and executed in during installation.
Projects of this nature always involve a huge team effort, drawing on the skills and expertise of all our accomplished WSG process. And this is no truer than with Starbucks. With no two Starbucks being the same but staying true to key casework guidelines, our Starbucks team quickly learnt to master the bespoke with the standard.
With all hands on deck, and with the project timeline expertly managed, we were able to have the joinery complete in time to be fitted for the opening day.
With each Starbucks having a statement design feature, the focus on this particular format was centre around the striking solid oak triangles cascading around the major casework. Something which on the face of it looks easy but required internal testing and prototyping to ensure each piece was perfect and yield of material was perfectly accounted for. Ensuring we create cost both a stunning and cost effective statement feature.
From the grain matching and staining of the oak veneered wall paneling, through to the solid surface worktops and bespoke metal fabrication. Our team skilled design and production team really manage to bring out the best of the Starbucks pallet. And what a success we made of it, so much so we can now proudly say that WSG is a fully approved Starbucks casework supplier. We’ve completed more Starbucks projects since, and look forward to completing more in the future!
