A drawn out process…
At WSG Interiors, we specialise in creating spectacular, functional interiors that meet and exceed our clients’ expectations. One of the ways we achieve this is by carefully taking information from available drawings and visuals and using them as the foundation for our design development work.
We work through a process to turn these designs into production and installation drawings that are detailed to ensure stunning end results. We put in a lot of time, effort and diligence to take us through to the completion of every Commercial Interior project.
A vision for the space
Firstly, it’s vital for us to gather as much information as possible from the original drawings. Sometimes these can be very basic, and this means we need to delve further. Our project team will carry out site surveys, request and study architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details. We examine these all this carefully to understand the space, its dimensions, and its functional requirements. We also pay close attention to the details of the materials, finishes, and fittings specified in the drawings to get an idea of the interior design intentions.
From that, we usually gain a sound understanding of the brief, and we meet with the client to discuss their vision for the space. We ask them questions about how the space is going to be, the design preferences, and the budget. This helps us to refine our design approach and ensure that we are creating something that meets the client’s needs.
Presenting the vision
Sometimes, at our client’s request, we also seek input from the end user of the space. For example, if we’re designing a reception area for an office, we might talk to an office manager, or an operations director to understand how they work and what their needs are. This information helps us to create a design that is not only beautiful but also functional and practical.
Once we have gathered all the necessary information, we start the design process. We go back to the original drawings and use them to kick off the design work. From those, we might create new drawings or renders to visualise our ideas and show them to the client. And when we do, they can be pretty impressive. This allows us to present our vision back to the client and let them see for themselves what we have in mind. It offers a very real feel for the client and end-user. And it’s nice to see them tune into the sense of reality that starts here. They’ll provide us with feedback on our design, before we start any manufacture and installation.
During installation, our in-house install team work closely with other subcontract trades to ensure that the design is implemented correctly.
At the end of the project, we do a final walk-through with the client. This ensures that they are happy with the finished product. We take pride in delivering interiors on-time and in-full that exceed our clients’ expectations.
The reality can look identical to the renders we present to our clients. And that’s why we feel they’re an essential part of getting the end-result right. However basic or detailed they might be when we initially receive a visual, it starts us off on that journey to detailed design perfection that WSG are renowned for.
